Many commercial vehicles today are designed and required by law to use diesel exhaust fluid that helps reduce environmentally harmful emissions. When the diesel engine of a truck is set to use a relatively lean fuel ratio, it will produce less of the soot and byproducts that used to be so typical of this type of combustion.
